Each year we teach more than 3,500 men, women, boys and girls, how to surf. Our friendly staff and experience instructors are knowledgeable watermen and women with a talent for teaching. All our instructors maintain the highest safety certifications available.

Pacific Beach Surf Shop is where surfing got its start in San Diego opening in 1962 when the surf scene was just in its infancy. Since then P.B. Surf Shop has been a vital part of Pacific Beach’s community. The old logo still conjures up images and feelings of “Good Vibrations” and dreams of riding waves! Its long time association with iconic surfboard maker and former owner Gordon and Smith Surfboards have deep roots in the San Diego surf scene. In 1993 local surfer, an open ocean prone paddler and outrigger canoe’s man Randy Strunk took over the reigns and continues to run the store that connects with both locals and visitors. P.B Surf Shop is not corporate but has a home-grown family feel to it. When you come in you can sense its authenticity.
