Dogs seem perfectly designed to be our adventure buddies. They are natural athletes, they don’t complain, and their excitement to be outside, by our side, is unmatched. But that’s not to say they don’t require a little basic training to join us safely and happily in our favorite sports. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same.
The SUP Connection was proud to be part of another great cause. The Urban Surf 4 Kids Paddlefest 2014 was for such a great cause, an amazing group of kids. The SUP Connection provided 20 paddleboards and instruction for the children and volunteers to enjoy the sport we all love. Thank you to all of the volunteers and participants that helped make this event another huge success.

The luncheon was held at the Coronado Island Marriott and had local and Hollywood celebrities as well as the very popular San Diego City Firefighters as your guest waiters for an afternoon of fun. The emcee for this event was San Diego’s own, Russ T. Nailz and KyXy’s Susan DeVincent. Last year’s event sold out again with over 400 people in attendance, each
leaving with a smile!
The SUP Connection was a proud sponsor on September 7th, 2014 in the Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon. Yet another amazing event that we were very happy to be apart of. The SUP Connection helped provide paddleboards for the event and spread the word about stand up paddling with your favorite 4-legged friend.
The SUP Connection was a very proud sponsor for the The Marriott Champions for Rady Children’s Hospital Golf Tournament on May 5th, 2014. It was an amazing day of hanging out on the Maderas Golf Course supporting a great cause. We helped with the hole sponsorship and donating a Banger SUP and Fish Planx land paddle and longboard. Already looking forward to next year.
